Angela Cruz is the Anchor and Producer of the morning show, NBC 10 News Today. She worked her way up the newsroom, starting by running the teleprompter at KTVE in 1999 as a Production Assistant. Her other titles have been Promotions Assistant, Weekend Reporter and Videographer, and now she’s proud to be anchoring. Being at the station she grew up watching gives it extra meaning when she tells viewers, “I’m working my dream job!” One of the bright spots in her day is giving the news live to Mike & Sheila Kay on Sunny 98.3. You can also hear her give morning updates on all Opus Broadcasting radio stations. She has interviewed the multi-platinum band The All American Rejects, Leann Rhymes, Jenny McCarthy and most recently a Louisiana resident who was featured on the cover of “People” magazine for losing 150 pounds.
Angela graduated cum laude from the Honors Program of the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor of General Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language (Spanish). 100% of her education comes from Ouachita Parish, all the way from elementary school to college. Angela serves as the Public Relations Director of the Philippine-American Association of Northeast LA, and she has been the organist and pianist of Our Lady of Fatima Church for eight years. Angela served as Miss Ouachita 2004 and Miss Ark-La-Miss 2005, and she represented the state to millions of worldwide listeners when she was featured on the British Broadcast Channel.
Angela loves the Ark-La-Miss for its friendly Southern hospitality, and she is proud to be a hometown girl. If you have a story idea for Angela, you can email her at
